This is the home page for Ole Jonny Larsen, Ålesund, Norway.

I am a teacher in a Norwegian state school teaching language, literature and history.

In my private life I am an addicted collector of plants, and my favourites are Rhododendron species. I have one of Norway’s biggest private collections of the genus.

I have written lots of articles in the Norwegian, the Danish and a Swedish Rhododendron magazine. I have also published an article in The Journal ("Plant hunting on top of Europe", summer 2006). Just now I have written an article for Rhododendron, Magnolia and Camellia Group of the Royal Horticultural Society in England to be published in the 2009 year book (“Growing Magnolias in cold climates”).

I am a European member of the ARS seed exchange committee. During the last year I have been responsible for putting together a wish list for seeds for the seed exchange.

I am often asked to speak about plants and gardening for various organisations, which I like very much to do.
